How It All Started
Built Carpentry was founded by Steve Thompson, a Red Seal Carpenter with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in residential construction and renovations. His approach is straightforward: use quality materials, communicate clearly, and complete every project with care and precision. That same standard guides the entire Built Carpentry team, from the first planning conversation through to the final details of the finished space.

Get to Know Me
I started Built Carpentry because I’ve always enjoyed taking an idea and turning it into something real. As a Red Seal Carpenter with more than 20 years of hands-on experience, I’ve worked on everything from full home renovations to detailed custom carpentry, and I’ve always believed the best work comes from doing things properly from the start.

I wanted Built Carpentry to combine skilled craftsmanship with clear, honest communication. Homeowners should understand what’s happening, what comes next, and what to expect throughout their renovation.
Today, our team provides residential renovations and custom carpentry throughout Sarnia, Lambton County, and surrounding communities. We take pride in careful planning, quality workmanship, and finishing every project with the same attention to detail we would expect in our own homes.
